Founded during lockdown in 2020, City Speak prefers to stick to light fare (patriarchy, obedience to authority, exploitation by multinational corporations), but still manage to pose the seriously important questions (pineapple on pizza- yes or no?). They put all of that into songs that sound like “’77 punk with a bit of TSOL”. The proof of these concepts is presented on the band’s debut album, “Holding Water”.
