Please Welcome Toronto's LARAIGNÉ To The Team! New Album Pre-Order Available Now!

Hello once again buddies and faithful followers! We are very pleased to officially welcome another new addition to our incredible stable of stars- LARAIGNÉ! Greg Laraigné, who now goes by the moniker LARAIGNÉ, is a solo artist based in Toronto, ON, Canada. What comes to mind when trying to describe the music of LARAIGNÉ? Honestly, the first thing that comes to mind is Steve Earle’s “I Feel Alright”. Roots style music with a harder edge and punk rock ethics. That might lead me to also think later era Uncle Tupelo and the more rocking Son Volt. These are references from 20-30 years ago, but that’s not a bad thing. It means LARAIGNÉ has a timeless sound, which is a necessary asset when traveling the world as a true troubadour. I guess maybe Brian Fallon, Jon Snodgrass and Frank Turner would be more modern comparisons. Closer still might be his friend and now-SLN labelmate Seth Anderson, in that they encapsulate both the brightness and melancholy of living one’s values through song. Honest people making honest music. What else should music be, really? “The Brightside Of It All” is the title of LARAIGNÉ’s long-anticipated new album that we’ll be releasing in conjunction with our friends at Shield Recordings (The Netherlands). It will be available as a 12" vinyl long player (smokey clear!) and digital long player on May 11, 2022. You can pre-order the album from our WEB STORE or our BANDCAMP right now. The lead single and title track, ‘The Brightside Of It All’, just premiered over at Punk Rock Theory and is up on our bandcamp sampler for immediate listening. “The Brightside Of It All”, recorded by Matt Snell at Genesis Sound Inc. and produced by Eamon McGrath (the same producer as Seth Anderson’s “We Could Be.”), is a perfect collection of folk punk and americana songs and we’re eager to get them all inside the ears of the sharpest of listeners!
