We are delighted to welcome City Speak from Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany to the SLN family! Founded during lockdown in 2020, City Speak prefers to stick to light fare (patriarchy, obedience to authority, exploitation by multinational corporations), but still manage to pose the seriously important questions (pineapple on pizza- yes or no?). They put all of that into songs that sound like “’77 punk with a bit of TSOL”. The proof of these concepts is forthcoming with the band’s debut album, “Holding Water”. The record is set to be released on August 22nd and “Holding Water" is now available for pre-order in our WEB STORE and on our BANDCAMP on ice ice baby vinyl LP, compact disc and digital long player. You’ll get lead single, ‘Daydream League’, immediately with pre-order and you can also hear that tune on our bandcamp sampler.It’s also on all streaming platforms. City Speak’s “Holding Water” is being released in conjunction with Keep It A Secret Records (Germany), Shield Recordings (The Netherlands) and Cat's Claw Records (United Kingdom). We’re excited to have our first European album-act in our stable of stars and it’s even cooler that our friend Cornelius of Keep It A Secret Records is also in the band!
