Hype: SLN team captains Hooper are hitting us with a killer set of new tunes. For their newest EP, “Carry Your Own Saints”, they submitted themselves to the guidance of J Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines) in his iconic studio, The Magpie Cage in Baltimore, Maryland. The record is a suite of biographical songs focusing on figures as wide ranging as Polish scientist Marie Curie, and American author Jack Kerouac. Each song probes a different icon in search of mythologies worth believing in. The songs crackle with a newfound urgency that comes with deadlines, and the band gains an added heft and precision with Mr. Robbins’ firecracker production. It's Hooper’s most fully realized set of songs to date. "Carry Your Own Saints" is available on 12” vinyl and as a digital extended player. Pre-orders are up now in our usual spots ahead of the June 2 release date. The lead single, ‘92U’, premiered today (April 28th) over at Punk Rock Theory and you can also jam the song on our bandcamp sampler or on all the various streaming platforms. Long live the Hoop!
