Please welcome another new addition to the talent roster! Steven Lee Lawson hops on board to deliver his Self-Titled debut solo album, due out May 7. As a longtime writer and performer while a major part of Denver, CO's Oblio Duo and its various offshoots throughout the 00’s (Oblio Duo + The Archers, Oblio’s Arrow), Steven has always understood the craft of songwriting (which he'll be taking to his new home of Salida, CO). When you listen to the songs on Steven’s self-titled debut solo outing, there’s no hiding the fact that life can be hard and that Steven has done some hard living. The constant reminder in between the beautiful interplay of pain and joy is that rarely does one find satisfaction or strength of character in an easy life. Luckily for us, Steven is strong enough to know that, endure it successfully and set it to music. You can pre-order the vinyl LP in our Web Store right now in and choose either the limited edition or standard edition. You'll get lead single 'Economics' right away and the full album on release day. The standard edition LP is also available on our bandcamp. The LP (with download of course) is $16.00 and the digital long player is pay-what-you-want. You can also hear 'Economics' on our bandcamp sampler and the single is up on all the main streaming sites too. We're really happy to be working with Steven Lee Lawson again. Longtime SLN fans and friends will recall that Steven played bass in Snake Mountain, one of the two bands that were featured on our very first release! Pretty cool.
You know, like it’s 1:00am Sunday morning but really it’s still Saturday night? That’s the kinda party we’re talking about here and the soundtrack is the brand new self-titled Sunday State album! Post-punk campfire songs have never sounded so sweet. This album scratches those itches for the timeless sound of vintage Laurel Canyon as well as the immediacy and impact of 90’s alt-rock. You can grab the digital long player from our Web Store or from our Bandcamp (today is bandcamp Friday too!). You can also find this fantastic album on all the standard digital/streaming sites. But wait, there’s more! This long player will be seeing a pressing on the proper format for long players- 12” vinyl. More info on that later. Until then, enjoy the tunes in 21st century style.

A lion can be loud and fierce, but also subtle and cunning. Those happen to be apt descriptions of the brand new digital long player from Nuevo Leon, “Rust Colored Light”, that’s out now! Trevor McMorris plays one-man-band and takes the listener on a tour of all of his musical influences that span decades, all while having a consistent sound and style that reminds us that they are indeed Trevor’s own songs. That’s a rare feat for any musician and as listeners we’re all rewarded with the quality of work that Trevor put into “Rust Colored Light”. You can snag the digital long player from our Web Store or from our Bandcamp (today is bandcamp Friday too!). You can also find this excellent album on all the standard digital/streaming sites. Nuevo Leon, this new lion, is already finding its way in the world. Imagine the stories that will come as its experiences continue to grow.

Signal To Trust began with Jonathon Warnberg, Pete Biasi and Dave Storberg a few months after the breakup of The Misfires, the instrumentalists’ prior band, at the turn of the century in Minneapolis, MN. They were joined on vocals by Brandon Onward (Rouse) and played their first show on April 1, 2000. In September of 2000, they recorded 11 songs with Mike Wisti at Albatross in Chicago, IL and left for a West coast tour that October. By spring 2001, Brandon had left the band and the recordings were shelved. Signal To Trust’s would-be debut album, originally slated for April 2001, will finally be released for the first time ever on 4/16/21 as the "Albatross Sessions". What’s 20 years when the material is this good?!?! You can pre-order the cassette and/or digital long player from our Web Store or from our Bandcamp. Lead single 'I Don't Want To Be A Waist' is also on our bandcamp sampler. Although Signal To Trust would go on to achieve much with different
lineups for many years following that first change, the original quartet
made a lasting impression. Now a world of keen ears can hear why. This is important history for SLN, as now Signal To Trust is part of the talent roster after 20+ years of friendship with the band members (who would go on to Falcon Crest and SLN stars Low Forms, among other acts) as well as the folks at the partner labels for this release- Modern Radio Record Label (Minneapolis, MN) and This Ain't Heaven Recording Concern (Wichita, KS). How cool is that?!?!

We are excited to announce that Portland, OR's Sunday State has joined the SLN roster! Sunday State began with Michael Carothers and Kurt Foster, two long-time musicians in the band-breeding ground of the Pacific Northwest who had known each other for 20 years. With nothing more than a casual, "Hey, wanna write a few songs together?" they began digging into instrumental demos Carothers had created. From the moment the two collaborated it was obvious the material taking shape had a particular voice worth exploring further. Recruiting Jeremy Dietz (Mission Spotlight) on bass, Thom Sullivan (The Pynnacles) on drums, and Steve Turner (Mudhoney/Green River) with his signature harmonic fuzz, the band developed a post-punk, campfire sing-a-long sound complete with cinematic landscapes tethered to jangle riffs rooted in their shared influences. Sunday State's brand new Self-Titled album will be released digitally on 4/2/21 in collaboration with No Night Travel Recordings. Pre-orders for the digital long player are up in our Web Store as well as our Bandcamp, plus you can catch the new single, 'Take You Over' on our bandcamp sampler. Thanks for welcoming Sunday State to the SLN stable of stars, keen listeners!
