Surprise! ZZ Top Ramen Hops On Board SLN With 2 New Extended Players!

The additions to SLN keep on coming and we couldn’t be happier! Please welcome Denver, CO’s premier metal cover duo, ZZ Top Ramen. Remember all those older songs you like, but now you're into metal? ZZ Top Ramen has got you. Denver scene stalwarts Ben Pitts (To Be Eaten, The New Rome, False Cathedrals) and Brian Polk (Gravity Index, Joy Subtraction, Simulators) perform and record shredding covers of songs from non-shredding genres. Yep, it's pretty awesome. Today the duo has surprise-dropped two new digital extended players, “Cowboy Cinema” and “90’s Rock”, respectively. You can preview a track, ‘Bad Scene Everyone's Fault (Jawbreaker)’, on our bandcamp sampler to get a feel for what ZZ Top Ramen does. You’re gonna dig it! Both “Cowboy Cinema” and “90’s Rock” can be found in our Web Store (Cowboy HERE / 90's HERE) and on our Bandcamp (Cowboy HERE / 90's HERE) at pay-what-you-want pricing. What a deal! The EP’s are also on all the streaming platforms, so there are tons of ways to listen to the coolest covers around. Go ahead and rediscover some classic tunes with new twists!

Please Welcome NIGHT BATTLES To Team SLN! Debut Album Pre-Order Available!

We at SLNHQ are pleased to announce the addition of Raleigh, North Carolina’s NIGHT BATTLES to the team as well as the pending release of their debut album, “Year Of No Days”, on 12” vinyl and digital long player. The album is set for release on May 7 and lead single, ‘Hungry Ghost’, is out today wherever you like to find the hits from the SLN stable of stars (including our bandcamp sampler). There's also a cool video for the single making the rounds. You can pre-order “Year Of No Days” on vinyl LP or digital from our WEB STORE or our BANDCAMP right now. NIGHT BATTLES was formed in 2016 by Chris Skelly (formerly of 90’s post-hardcore band Dahlia Seed) and Charlie King, who bonded over a shared love for the primal minimalism of the Spacemen 3, The Gun Club and the early 80’s hardcore punk scene where they spent their formative years in NY and DC respectively. This synthesis became the structure of the early NIGHT BATTLES sound which eventually evolved to include a heavy dose of post-punk and psych, giving NIGHT BATTLES their now familiar swirling, reverb drenched sound. Despite their decidedly dark sonic influences, "Year of No Days" retains a strong sense of melody and hook that belies the sometimes weighty and somber themes explored within.

Steady Circuits Joins The SLN Roster! New Single Out Now, More Tunes Coming Soon!

Steady Circuits, a new solo project from New Mexico/Colorado-based musician Mike Marchant, has officially joined the SLN roster and today sees the release of a brand new digital single, "Gravity Calling". If the name Mike Marchant sounds familiar, it's because he is one half of another SLN act, Lightning Cult. Steady Circuits is Mike's first true solo project since his 2018 return to music after a lengthy hiatus. "One Of Many Ends...", the first release under the Steady Circuits moniker, was a digital EP that was self-released at the end of 2020. The next release is a companion full length titled "... Of One Of Many Worlds" and will be issued by us here at SLN along with the New Mexico-based Cloud Command Sound imprint. 'Gravity Calling' is the lead single from the new album, due out this summer. You can buy and download the "Gravity Calling" digital single from our WEB STORE or our BANDCAMP now and receive an exclusive bonus B-Side track titled 'Not Impossible'. The B-side track is a non-album tune and is only available through us or Steady Circuits directly. Stay tuned for pre-order details for the forthcoming "... Of One Of Many Worlds" cassette as well as a "One Of Many Ends Of One Of Many Worlds" deluxe compact disc. Yup, a CD! More on our foray back into the world of compact discs later on. For now, get acquainted with Steady Circuits!

SLN-195 Soars High!

Today is a release day 20 years in the making. The Signal To Trust album, "Albatross Sessions", is out now! Featuring 11 tracks of tightly wound post-punk influenced rockers, "Albatross Sessions" features the band's original lineup with Brandon Onward (Rouse) on vocals. Signal To Trust recorded the album in 2000 for an intended 2001 release, but Brandon left the band shortly after the sessions and the recordings remained shelved until now. The album comes on black cassette tapes and a digital download is included. There are also a handful of copies on translucent red cassettes and we'll be randomly sending those out to some lucky SLN customers. You can order a cassette copy or a digital-only copy from our WEB STORE or from our BANDCAMP. You can also find this stunning album on all the standard digital/streaming sites, plus the cassette is distributed by Recess Ops. This release is a collaboration with our old buddies at Modern Radio Record Label and This Ain't Heaven Recording Concern. Best of all, the album release was sanctioned by all four original members of Signal To Trust and was a great way to reconnect with so many friends. Thanks y'all!

Pressing Info: 100 black cassette tapes.
