Wow, it's been 10 years since SLN first launched and we're about to hit our 100th release (give or take, we hop around). We're excited to tell you about SLN-200: the SPELLS "FANGIRL" Zine + Flexi Disc 7" Combo. FANGIRL is Colorado’s niftiest new fan-zine. Each issue features one Colorado band, selected by the editorial staff. There’s a wealth of band info, record reviews and a unique multi-part interview. As a bonus, each issue comes with a 7” flexi disc with music by the featured band. How cool is all of that?!... It’s FANGIRL cool!! Issue #1, printed by View Shed Studio, features longtime SLN mainstays SPELLS. The flexi disc/digital single features SPELLS performing the song 'FANGIRL', which was written specifically for the zine's creators. We thought this was a pretty fun entry as SLN-200! The zine and single officially come out on 9/28/21 (hit our WEB STORE for more info), but we'll be starting pre-orders for the zine + flexi combo on 9/14/21. You'll get the digital single right away if you place a pre-order, so mark your calendars! We're also having a release party in Denver at The 1010 Workshop on 9/24/21 featuring SPELLS (makes sense), Black Dots, Curious Things, comedy by Andrew Orvedahl and The Postman DJing in between bands and closing out the night. Fans of Bricheros will recognize the two song-specific winks in the news headline, but it's basically just a clever(?) way of saying that the "Live At Hensley" 10" is out now! This record is a live LP of the band at the height of their powers at the now defunct but always legendary Bar Hensley in their hometown of Lima, Peru. Bricheros have also been calling Colorado and sometimes California home as well for awhile, but getting such a great live set recorded at such a well-loved place from where they first got started in music was something special. You can hear it in the grooves. The 10" spins at 33.3 RPM and comes on blood red vinyl with a digital download included. You can grab a vinyl copy or digital-only copy from our WEB STORE or from our BANDCAMP. The first 50 copies are Primeros Cincuenta poster editions! We have some along with both Bricheros and Green Noise Records. "Live At Hensley" is already up on all your favorite digital/streaming sites. The 10" is distributed in the US by Recess Ops and will be in all the best independent record stores along Colorado's Front Range. If you don't live near those areas, we ship worldwide, but you can keep a lookout as we'll be getting some records over to South America, Europe and Japan as well. As you may have heard, SPELLS and Hooper teamed up for a brand new split 7" that's the first in a new series. The deal is, two bands not only cover a song by each other, but record an original song written for them by the other band. So, what's the record called again?! "Rock N Roll Swap Meet: Day 1", that's what! It's finally out today. Both SPELLS and Hooper recorded their tracks in 2019 and had them off to the pressing plant in 2020, but then, you know what happened. So, they held onto everything until the timing was better to hit the world with the goods... like now! You can order RNRSMD1 on hot pink 7" vinyl (with download that includes bonus tracks) or as a digital-only extended player from our WEB STORE or from our BANDCAMP. Howdy interwebbers! We are pleased to announce another new addition to our incredible stable of stars, Bricheros! The band has a new live 10" that's coming out on 8/16/21 called (fittingly) "Live At Hensley". We aren't doing pre-orders, it'll just drop 8/16 and start showing up in all the places where music lives. The band has a few Denver dates before the official release, but they will have a handful of early bird copies at the merch table.
