Today is a release day 20 years in the making. The Signal To Trust album, "Albatross Sessions", is out now! Featuring 11 tracks of tightly wound post-punk influenced rockers, "Albatross Sessions" features the band's original lineup with Brandon Onward (Rouse) on vocals. Signal To Trust recorded the album in 2000 for an intended 2001 release, but Brandon left the band shortly after the sessions and the recordings remained shelved until now. The album comes on black cassette tapes and a digital download is included. There are also a handful of copies on translucent red cassettes and we'll be randomly sending those out to some lucky SLN customers. You can order a cassette copy or a digital-only copy from our WEB STORE or from our BANDCAMP. You can also find this stunning album on all the standard digital/streaming sites, plus the cassette is distributed by Recess Ops. This release is a collaboration with our old buddies at Modern Radio Record Label and This Ain't Heaven Recording Concern. Please welcome another new addition to the talent roster! Steven Lee Lawson hops on board to deliver his Self-Titled debut solo album, due out May 7. As a longtime writer and performer while a major part of Denver, CO's Oblio Duo and its various offshoots throughout the 00’s (Oblio Duo + The Archers, Oblio’s Arrow), Steven has always understood the craft of songwriting (which he'll be taking to his new home of Salida, CO). When you listen to the songs on Steven’s self-titled debut solo outing, there’s no hiding the fact that life can be hard and that Steven has done some hard living. The constant reminder in between the beautiful interplay of pain and joy is that rarely does one find satisfaction or strength of character in an easy life. Luckily for us, Steven is strong enough to know that, endure it successfully and set it to music. Trevor McMorris plays one-man-band and takes the listener on a tour of all of his musical influences that span decades, all while having a consistent sound and style that reminds us that they are indeed Trevor’s own songs. That’s a rare feat for any musician and as listeners we’re all rewarded with the quality of work that Trevor put into “Rust Colored Light”. Signal To Trust began with Jonathon Warnberg, Pete Biasi and Dave Storberg a few months after the breakup of The Misfires, the instrumentalists’ prior band, at the turn of the century in Minneapolis, MN. They were joined on vocals by Brandon Onward (Rouse) and played their first show on April 1, 2000. In September of 2000, they recorded 11 songs with Mike Wisti at Albatross in Chicago, IL and left for a West coast tour that October. By spring 2001, Brandon had left the band and the recordings were shelved. Signal To Trust’s would-be debut album, originally slated for April 2001, will finally be released for the first time ever on 4/16/21 as the "Albatross Sessions". What’s 20 years when the material is this good?!?! You can pre-order the cassette and/or digital long player from our Web Store or from our Bandcamp. Lead single 'I Don't Want To Be A Waist' is also on our bandcamp sampler. Although Signal To Trust would go on to achieve much with different lineups for many years following that first change, the original quartet made a lasting impression. Now a world of keen ears can hear why. This is important history for SLN, as now Signal To Trust is part of the talent roster after 20+ years of friendship with the band members (who would go on to Falcon Crest and SLN stars Low Forms, among other acts) as well as the folks at the partner labels for this release- Modern Radio Record Label (Minneapolis, MN) and This Ain't Heaven Recording Concern (Wichita, KS). How cool is that?!?!
