SPELLS and Hooper, two of SLN's most tenured acts, have teamed up for a brand new split! It's the first in a new series in which two bands not only cover a song by each other, but record an original song written for them by the other band. So, without further ado, we present SPELLS & Hooper "Rock N Roll Swap Meet: Day 1"! The release date is set for 8/13/21. You can pre-order RNRSMD1 on hot pink 7" vinyl (with download that includes bonus tracks) or as a digital-only extended player from our WEB STORE or from our BANDCAMP. There's a limited version of the 7" that includes a bonus hand numbered transparent insert and it's only available from our web store through 7/28/21, then again at the Denver record release show on 8/14/21 (at HQ with roster-mates Chap) and finally as a retail exclusive through Green Noise Records until they're gone. Trevor McMorris (Hooper) proposed this split idea to Charlie Continental (SPELLS) back in 2019. The record has been in the can since mid-2020, but we wanted to wait until shows were back to get the record and the series out into the world in 2021. The striking art and packaging was developed by SLN Art Director Rob #3, which also includes project liner notes by Cameron Hawk (Lawsuit Models). Lawsuit Models have a new digital single out today! It's called 'Victory Nap' and it's a donation-based track (pay-what-you-want) with proceeds benefiting Denver Homeless Out Loud. If this first track is any indication, the album is going to kick tons of butt. The additions to SLN are moving right along and this one is extra special! Please welcome Denver, CO’s best single-summer-lifespan band, The Army Of Summer, with a years-in-the making S/T EP! In 2008, Tommy Ventura wanted to do a project featuring a suite of songs he'd been kicking around for several years and made a plan- Finish arranging the songs with a band he hand-selected, play a few shows and record. Tommy just wanted to do the project for one summer, so he chose a band name that would leave little doubt as to what his intentions were- The Army Of Summer. Once in place, the band achieved all of the modest goals that Tommy had laid out and by 2009, The Army Of Summer was no longer active. The recordings made the rounds on burned CD’s between friends and was a very fond memory for those involved as well as the friends that followed the group from inception to retirement. Finally, 13 years later, The Army Of Summer have an actual record! Tommy selected four tracks from a lone 2008 recording session to get brushed up via light remixing and mastering. The resulting S/T EP is now available on a clear, hand numbered, single sided stereo lathe cut 12" and digital extended player. Grab your preferred format from our WEBSTORE or from our BANDCAMP. The Army Of Summer were known for providing a stunning display of pseudo-progressive indie rock that leans heavily on Americana while incorporating the brighter elements of baroque pop. Many in the SLN family have been close to the orbit of Tommy and his bandmates (some were in the band), so we're really glad that everyone can finally hear the music that was made that one beautiful summer, some time ago.

It's a co-release with Santa Fe, NM imprint Cloud Command Sound and features 10 tracks of indie synth pop rock perfection. "...
