We're pleased to announce another new addition to the SLN stable of stars! Please welcome Denver, CO’s indie-alterna-folk-punk act, bellhoss. Hailing from southern California, Becky Hostetler created bellhoss in 2017 after relocating to Denver. She began as a solo artist and eventually grew to collaborate with other people, bands, producers, and more. bellhoss is an indie sadcore space folk project that sits in purgatory between folk and DIY punk, writing songs for herself and for people who keep secrets. Whelp, the secret is out that bellhoss is awesome! Today is the release of bellhoss' latest extended player, "hiding ep". It's a digital-only EP and can be found in our WEB STORE and on our BANDCAMP at pay-what-you-want pricing. The EP is also on all the streaming platforms, so there are tons of ways to listen. This effort is a co-release with the recently unveiled Recessive Goth Records, a label that Becky started with her friend Barry Osborne. The Animal Steel is set to release a new album! It’s titled "A Surefire Way To Get Sober" and will be issued on 8/6/21! "A Surefire Way To Get Sober" is available to pre-order on LP/digital as well as just plain digital via our WEB STORE and our BANDCAMP. The Animal Steel has been patiently waiting for the return of safe shows to get this eagerly anticipated album out and the time is finally right! The band will be playing a record release show at Denver's Hi-Dive on 8/7/21 if you're in the area and want to celebrate with them. This is the first time we've been lucky enough to work with the Denver, CO heavy hitters, but we've known the members for 25 years and counting. This is the kind of record that checks all the boxes for us at SLNHQ- great songs by great people that we have great relationships with. A record label can't ask for anything more! The 12" vinyl spins at 33.3 RPM on the A side and features an awesome etching on the B side. SPELLS and Hooper, two of SLN's most tenured acts, have teamed up for a brand new split! It's the first in a new series in which two bands not only cover a song by each other, but record an original song written for them by the other band. So, without further ado, we present SPELLS & Hooper "Rock N Roll Swap Meet: Day 1"! The release date is set for 8/13/21. You can pre-order RNRSMD1 on hot pink 7" vinyl (with download that includes bonus tracks) or as a digital-only extended player from our WEB STORE or from our BANDCAMP. There's a limited version of the 7" that includes a bonus hand numbered transparent insert and it's only available from our web store through 7/28/21, then again at the Denver record release show on 8/14/21 (at HQ with roster-mates Chap) and finally as a retail exclusive through Green Noise Records until they're gone. Trevor McMorris (Hooper) proposed this split idea to Charlie Continental (SPELLS) back in 2019. The record has been in the can since mid-2020, but we wanted to wait until shows were back to get the record and the series out into the world in 2021. The striking art and packaging was developed by SLN Art Director Rob #3, which also includes project liner notes by Cameron Hawk (Lawsuit Models). Lawsuit Models have a new digital single out today! It's called 'Victory Nap' and it's a donation-based track (pay-what-you-want) with proceeds benefiting Denver Homeless Out Loud.
