Feliz Cinco De Mayo, primera parte! The debut album, “Naif”, by Denver’s hottest powerpop band, Curious Things, is out now! It’s available as an LP on 12" classic black vinyl (digital download included) or as a standalone digital long player from our WEB STORE or our BANDCAMP. Curious Things is the vehicle for songwriter Cameron Hawk, who has been a storied contributor to bands of various genres over the last 20-odd years (The Gamits, Lawsuit Models, The Dead Girls, Bandaid Brigade and more). Though Hawk is a self-diagnosed music nerd who will happily rock to any musical style with a group of buddies, his own songs have always fallen somewhere in between Power Pop and Pop Punk - unabashedly melodic, refreshingly quirky, and executed with a pull-no-punches Punk spirit. Rounding out the band with Hawk are drummer Forrest Bartosh (The Gamits, Bud Bronson and the Good Timers, Pinhead Circus), and bassist Ryan Heller (Tuff Bluff, Lawsuit Models). Together, they create an unstoppable power-trio dynamic that remains on full blast throughout “Naif”. This is a co-release with our newest label buddies, Dumb Ghost Recording Enterprises. This is distributed as always by the fantastic Recess Ops. It’s also available via Green Noise Records and in all the choicest of record shops in the greater Denver Metro area. Lead single, ‘Out Of Control’, was just premiered over at Add To Wantlist and is out now on all the latest streaming streamables for max rockage. The tune is also on our bandcamp sampler. Night Court's “Humans!” follows up the Nervous Birds! Duology, a two album arc that saw "Nervous Birds! One" in 2021 and Nervous Birds! Two" in 2022. “Humans!” continues the band’s driving and delightfully unpolished sound, recorded DIY in the studio they built in their garage. Night Court has further sharpened their penchant for direct and catchy anthems that are custom made for the scrappiest of underdogs. Everyone's favorite Pacific Northwest pop-punk power trio, The Drolls, are about to unleash a brand new 7" single! Get this... it's the first in a brand new series. "Novelty Rock Monthly Singles Club, Vol. One" will be released on May 19, 2023 on the aforementioned 7" vinyl format, as well as digitally everywhere. The NRMSC features original songs by The Drolls written in the styles of classic songs by their favorite artists. Vol. One is an homage to the MC5 with 'Kick Out The Jammies' and Guided By Voices with 'I Am A Data Scientist'. The time has arrived. Today, Bud Bronson & the Good Timers officially release "BBGT III", a long player made up of two epic EP's: "Return Of The Black Flamingo Band" and "Manifest Fantasy", respectively. It's also available via Recess Ops, of course. We teamed up with our good buds Motorcycle Potluck Records to bring you this modern classic by the legendary Bud Bronson & The Good Timers. "BBGT III" is packed so densely full of hot riffs it needed two labels to safely ignite lift off! As a reminder, BBGT is having a big party at Denver's Hi-Dive tomorrow (April 21) to celebrate. It will also be the final transmission from the USS-BBGT for a long while (forever?!), so it's imperative that the fans get out for it! The Denver, CO vacation rockers recorded a slew of new jams recently for their next album. From those sessions, they selected two choice cuts to get into your earholes as soon as possible. "What The Hell Is Caution + Some Would Say" will be released as a clear 7" Flexi Disc and Digital Single on May 11, 2023! These two songs were mixed for the single treatment and showcase where the sound of SPELLS is at as they cruise along year 10 as a band. Guess what?! They're still pretty good! "What The Hell Is Caution + Some Would Say" is available for pre-order right now from our WEB STORE or our BANDCAMP. You'll get 'What The Hell Is Caution' as an immediate download after checkout and it also happens to be featured on our trusty bandcamp sampler. For all the collector-types out there, the flexi disc has 5 different cover variations with each one representing a member of SPELLS.
