Hit song alert! SPELLS has a brand-new digital single out today and it's called "Don't Tell Me Anything". It's a pay-what-you-want track with all proceeds benefiting The Blue Bench, a Denver-based organization working to eliminate sexual assault and diminish the impact it has on individuals, their loved ones and our community through comprehensive issue advocacy, prevention and care. You can donate and download "Don't Tell Me Anything" from our WEB STORE, our BANDCAMP and of course SPELLS' BANDCAMP. This new SPELLS tune is also noteworthy as it's the first recording to feature the band's highly energetic and fantastically talented new member, Dusk Monarch. In addition to that factoid the track also features Stephanie Byrne, the powerhouse front woman for SLN labelmates Cheap Perfume. This collab was years in the making and we're all happy to finally have it out in the world with the added opportunity to support The Blue Bench, a local cause we all believe in. This song won't arrive on streaming platforms until January 5 (2023!), so go on... treat yourself to an awesome new jam ahead of the streamers and help your community while doing so. Hello out there! We are very pleased to finally and officially welcome our longtime friends, Discomfort Creature, to Team SLN! The band hails from both Denver, CO, USA and Lugano, Ticino, Switzerland and hops back and forth between the two regions to double the impact of their rock and toll precision. Discomfort Creature features some of our oldest buddies in the biz- Chris Fogal, Ian O'Dougherty and Dan Fox (band members' credits include The Gamits, Uphollow, Little Thunder, plus lots more) playing a high-energy brand of garagey pop-punk with songs that are chock full of hooks and harmonies that get stuck in your head for weeks. OK, more like months! Discomfort Creature's "S/T" (self-titled) LP is a remastered and expanded edition of the band's debut self-titled EP that was released in 2021, including 3 bonus tracks and a revised running order. The vinyl LP was recently released in Europe via Bearded Punk Records (Belgium) as well as Monster Zero Records (Austria) and it will be released in the US of A by us on December 8, 2022. Loyal followers likely know the deal, but FANGIRL Issue #2 features the latest SLN roster addition, The Smokestack Relics. There are interviews, photos, factoids and more that ‘Stacks fans old and new will dig. The included yellow translucent 7” flexi disc features The Smokestack Relics performing the song 'Anatomy Of A Wolf', which is a foot-stompin’-hand-clappin’-sing-alongin’ good time. You can grab a zine/flexi combo (with song download!) from our WEB STORE and our BANDCAMP. Both sites also feature a digital single version of ‘Anatomy Of A Wolf’ if you just want the song without any physical attachment to this realm. We at SLNHQ have been enjoying the slower pace of late, but the shark must keep moving… We’re excited to tell you that FANGIRL #2, featuring The Smokestack Relics, will be released on September 22, 2022! You may recall that FANGIRL is Colorado’s niftiest fan-zine. Each issue features one Colorado band, selected by the editorial staff. There’s a wealth of band info, record reviews and a unique multi-part interview. As a bonus, each issue comes with a 7” flexi disc with music by the featured band. How cool is all of that?!... It’s FANGIRL cool!! Issue #2, printed by View Shed Studio, features brand new SLN family members The Smokestack Relics. The flexi disc/digital single features the ‘Stacks performing their new single 'Anatomy Of A Wolf', which offers an eclectic glimpse at the sounds the Denver, CO-based brotherly duo of Cameron and Collin Webb (the ‘Stacks y’all) are capable of making. The 7" comes on Xanadu green colored vinyl, spins at 45 RPM, is housed in a classic gold SLN company sleeve plus a digital version is also included. The new tunes, State Drugs’ ‘Mr. Untitled’ and ZEPHR’s ‘Land Line (J'ai Une Ãme Solitaire)', have already been out for several weeks on all the digi-streamy places (including our web store and bandcamp). But! We all know that nothing beats that colorful spinning circle! There are 50 limited edition copies of the 7" exclusive to State Drugs, ZEPHR and SLN for a limited time that come with a bonus hand numbered full-color insert.
