Knew, The (The Knew)
Denver, CO, USA (Occasionally Active)
TK is made up of front row show-goers who picked up some instruments and think you should do the same. They are an inclusive band and believe in the strength of PMA. TK is against all forms of shitty scenes (music or otherwise) and attest to the power of being humble and vulnerable. They book and manage themselves.
LARAIGNÉ
Toronto, ON, Canada (Active)
What comes to mind when trying to describe Greg Laraigné as a musician? Well first off, let’s address that he now goes by LARAIGNÉ when his music is involved. Don’t worry, if you’re a friend or a tattoo client he still answers to Greg. But regarding the music… Honestly, the first thing that comes to mind is Steve Earle’s “I Feel Alright”. Roots style music with a harder edge and punk rock ethics. That might lead me to also think later era Uncle Tupelo and the more rocking Son Volt. These are references from 20-30 years ago, but that’s not a bad thing. It means LARAIGNÉ has a timeless sound, which is a necessary asset when travelling the world as a true troubadour. I guess maybe Brian Fallon, Jon Snodgrass and Frank Turner would be more modern comparisons. Closer still might be his friend and now-SLN labelmate Seth Anderson, in that they encapsulate both the brightness and melancholy of living one’s values through song. Honest people making honest music. What else should music be, really?
Lawson, Steven Lee (Steven Lee Lawson)
Salida, CO, USA (Active)
Steven wears his heart on his sleeve and keeps his soul in a bottle of ink. His mind is a quill at the ready. As a longtime writer and performer while a major part of Oblio Duo and its various offshoots throughout the 00’s (Oblio Duo + The Archers, Oblio’s Arrow), Steven has always understood the craft of songwriting. His instrumental talents are as varied as the genres he’s been able to express himself in. He’s just as likely to remind you of Harry Nilsson as he is Joe Strummer, both in sound and ethos. Steven admittedly aspires to be a less-successful version of John Lurie, with a dog army in the middle of nowhere. That should give the reader more insight into the ramblin’ troubadour that comprises the makeup of Mr. Lawson. When you listen to the songs on Steven’s self-titled debut solo outing, there’s no hiding the fact that life can be hard and that Steven has done some hard living. The constant reminder in between the beautiful interplay of pain and joy is that rarely does one find satisfaction or strength of character in an easy life. Luckily for us, Steven is strong enough to know that, endure it successfully and set it to music.
Lawsuit Models
Denver, CO (Active)
What exactly is the future of pop punk? Is there one? Lawsuit Models don't know the answer to that question, and they don't pretend to know. All this Denver-based four-piece knows is they love it enough to play it unabashedly, unironically, and unceasingly.
Lightning Cult

By 2018 he was ready to jump back into music and he enlisted a like-minded collaborator, Luke Bern Carr. Carr began as a hired producer and performer but quickly became a full project member. Marx, Jiffy (Jiffy Marx)
Vancouver, BC, Canada (Active)
Born in the winter of 1976 along side the Ramones’ first album and the Damned’s 'New Rose', Jiffy Marx has toured all over North America and Europe with a kitchen sink of bands such as Black Rice, Blood Meridian, Hard Drugs, Jiffy Marker and most recently Canadian new wave revivalists Autogramm. On hiatus from touring and while chipping away at Autogramm’s sophomore album, Marx took a weekend to visit his pals from Seattle’s Bread & Butter. Over the course of 36 hours they managed to drink a shit load of beer, eat a ton of peanut butter pretzels, and track Jiffy’s first solo 45rpm single. “She’s My Witch” b/w “Warning Sign” sounds like classic 70s more punk than Big Star and more pop than Buzzcocks.
Modern Goon
Denver, CO, USA (Inactive)
Aaron, Dave, Bob and Jose's post punk band. They have songs. You can listen to them.
Native Daughters
Denver, CO, USA (Active)
Denver, CO’s Native Daughters have an instrumental sound that packs many of the body blows of heavy, riff-based post-metal. It also draws melodies and rhythmic tension from the cream of the mid-90s emo/post-punk crop. There are a few of the twinkly guitar leads and crushing breakdowns which are hallmarks of these divergent styles. Equal parts blunt force trauma and tension, you won’t know what hit you, but you’ll be glad that it did.
New Lion, A (A New Lion)
Englewood, CO, USA (Active)
A New Lion is a place where Trevor McMorris sticks “other” songs. Over the years he’s written tunes for/with Bailer, Big Timber and Hooper, but he’s always needed another place to put the things that haven’t quite fit within the guidelines of a current project. As a multi-instrumentalist, A New Lion as a handle has become synonymous with the whimsy of a studio rat, a band geek, and a folk strummer who’s a lifelong devotee of punk rock. McMorris has Brian Wilson’s fascination with texture and arrangement, tempered by a Neil Young or Robert Pollard sense of loose creative abandon. A New Lion is where the non-classifiable of McMorris’ creative output culminates into a worthy endeavor all its own.
New Standards Men
Denver, CO, USA (Active)
Imagine reading Naomi Klein’s Shock Doctrine during a solar flare. That’s basically their deal.
NIGHT BATTLES
Raleigh, NC, USA (Active)
NIGHT BATTLES was formed in 2016 by Chris Skelly (formerly of 90’s post-hardcore band Dahlia Seed) and Charlie King, who bonded over a shared love for the primal minimalism of the Spacemen 3, The Gun Club and the early 80’s hardcore punk scene where they spent their formative years in NY and DC respectively. This synthesis became the structure of the early NIGHT BATTLES sound which eventually evolved to include a heavy dose of post-punk and psych, giving NIGHT BATTLES their now familiar swirling, reverb drenched sound. Despite their decidedly dark sonic influences, "Year of No Days" retains a strong sense of melody and hook that belies the sometimes weighty and somber themes explored within.
Night Court
Vancouver, BC, Canada (Active)
“Nervous Birds! One” is the debut album by Vancouver’s Night Court. Written and recorded by the band in April-July 2020, the album represents the first half of the Nervous Birds! duology and lights the fuse for Night Court’s breakout explosion onto the scene. Striking a wild balance between embracing the spirit of inspiration and abandoning the strictures of inhibition, Night Court is set loose to draw new/glue repurposed maps over the post/pop/punk/lo-fi rock landscape. Wanting to travel light, the band decided to write only good songs with no unnecessary weight, leaving concentrated grooves of distorted/indelible catchiness in their wake. Prepare yourselves.

Denver, CO, USA (Active)
Roka Hueka is a Denver-based Latin ska band which has been creating danceable beats since forming in 2014. From a Criagslist ad, singer Andy Gonzalez found bandmates including drummer Blake Pendergrass and bassist Ric Urrutia. They started out playing ska versions of popular songs and then began to write their own material, mixing in reggae, Afrobeat, hip hop, and punk to create a unique sound rooted in Latinx culture. The result today is a fun, lively, and fierce sound that keeps you moving. Though its sound is unique in its own right, Roka Hueka is perhaps best-known for their lyrics which tackle hard issues like racism and politics. The band also put their lyrics to action and founded Territorio Liberado, a Denver music festival and benefit that supports immigrant rights.
